Yesterday, I got a text from a friend who was kind of beating herself up over her current writing schedule. She asked me what my writing schedule is like, because it seems (to her) that I get “so much work done” regularly.

First of all, WOW. Thank you.

Secondly, this dear dear friend of mine is an absolute miracle gift. She is a talented writer, a wife and a mom, an artist and a teacher and a good, good friend who shows up all the damn time. She also happens to be a regular ass whole human who needs to eat and hydrate and get some sunshine and let me tell you she is KILLING IT.

Which is why it breaks my dang heart to think of her finding herself short in anything, let alone a daily writing practice.

Here is what I told her in response…
